Peak Highlights
The Latok group
of mountains is a range of peaks located in the Karakoram region of the
Himalayas, situated in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of northern Pakistan. The
group consists of several peaks, with Latok I being the highest at 7,145 meters
(23,442 feet) and Latok II being the second-highest at 7,108 meters (23,320
feet). The Latok peaks are known for their challenging and technical climbing
routes, with many experienced climbers considering them to be among the most
difficult mountains in the world to climb. Despite numerous attempts over the
years, Latok I remains one of the few unclimbed peaks of its height in the
world.
